It's amazing what comes to you at 2am. I was thinking about what I wanted to do for my 2D to 3D and I knew I wanted to do something with my mask but wasn't sure what. But then at 2am I put two and two together. I had merged the plague with something beautiful in my mask, but isn't that what girls live through everyday? The idea that we are plagued by society to become this inhuman form of beauty? That's when I decided that not only did my mask represent myself, but it also represented the "Plague" that women go through every day when they wake up. Each morning they try to become this inhuman ideal of "beauty" that society has photoshoped us into thinking is real.
